Primary Cushion
Crafted from a vintage Japanese silk kimono, this cushion is a singular expression of heritage, symbolism, and thoughtful craftsmanship.
The front features the traditional honeycomb (kikkō 亀甲) motif, a hexagonal pattern long associated in Japan with longevity, strength, and good fortune.
The lumbar cushion is custom-sized, finished with a rich rust-red satin-blend back for added durability, and comes pre-filled.
Only four pieces have been created from this kimono. Each cushion comes with a certificate of authenticity, affirming the piece’s one-of-a-kind nature.
Secondary Cushion
To minimise waste and honour the material, the remaining silk has been carefully repurposed into piping for the accompanying 45 × 45 cm cushion.
This secondary cushion is made from an ultra-soft fabric and finished with matching vintage silk piping, extending the life and story of the original kimono.

Together, the two cushions form a considered pairing, one expressive, one grounding. Designed to be layered, lived with, and kept.
